My world revolves around him

Leaps and Bounds!

I took Pookie to the clinic today with me as I interned.  He seems to have a large bruise on his lower abdomen, but the doctors told me to ice it and keep an eye on it.  They also outlined it with sharpie, so I will know if it continues to grow.  He took his first poop today since before he had surgery, which I was thankful for.

I was just laying with Pookie on the floor and to my suprise, he stood up and hopped over to the couch.  Next thing I know, he has his good foot propped up on it and he his jumping to try to get up.  I had to give him a boost, but he made it!

Progress!!

The bruising could be a seroma. Ice helps, so does massage. Yeah for poop! 🙂

Welcome Pookie! My kitty Mona, also a front leg amputee, also had bruising. My vet said it’s not unusual. Mona was not bandaged up and did not wear a cone but I did put a cool damp facecloth on her incision which gave her comfort and to clean the dribble from the drain. She would lie on her incision side on the cool tile floor so they obviously find comfort in coolness.

You’ll find that Pookie will be able to jump up easily but you’ll have to lift her down. Mona was crazy cat racing around the house so I had to control her while she healed.

I’m happy to hear that Pookie has found you!

He had to be bandaged because the day after surgery he ripped out a few sutures. So now he has both sutures and staples.

He tried to jump onto the couch again today, so proud. I just give him a little boost and he is comfy as can be. He is currently laying on an ice pack.

      Thanks for your support!

You are a very determined kitty Pookie! Quite feisty!

YAY for cuddling on the sofa! Nothing’s gonna stop you from being comy!

Yeah, bruising is pretty normal. Great idea of marking it so you know if it expands.

    Extra ear scratches!

    Hugs!
