Pookie's Planet

My world revolves around him

Freedom!

imagePookie got his stitches and staples out today!  Freedom!! He is now getting some TLC since the clinic stresses him out a little.  I think he is afraid we will take another leg off!!

In the picture above, you can see Pookie trying to get along with his Aunty Frizbee.  She is seems very nervous.  They’ll get along better eventually!

Pookie’s New Buddy

So, I got Pookie a Pookie stuffed animal because I guess I think that I’m awfully clever.  (Not really!) Now he has a cuddle buddy.

Today was my first full day away from Pookie!  I interned from 8-6 and he stayed home.  Thankfully, my younger sisters took time out of their days to check on him.  He has done well!

His bruising has gone down significantly!  I hope it is all gone soon!

Breathe!

imagePookie got his bandage wraps off!  Now we just have to wait another 6 days until he can get them removed.  Took him to the office today, and I think he was afraid they’d amputate another limb.  Poor fella.

Just minutes ago, he hopped onto the couch ALL BY HIMSELF!!  Yayyyyy Pookie!

Mommy’s Best Bud

Pookie and I took a nice, long nap today.  He is quite the snuggle bug.  I ran to the store and couldn’t help but buy him this little shirt.  He doesn’t seem to mind it.  He hopped down the hallway and explored the house a little more.

I emailed the Humane Society today and they told me I could adopt Pookie once he has been seen by the veterinarians and requires no more check-ups.  I can’t wait!

Leaps and Bounds!

I took Pookie to the clinic today with me as I interned.  He seems to have a large bruise on his lower abdomen, but the doctors told me to ice it and keep an eye on it.  They also outlined it with sharpie, so I will know if it continues to grow.  He took his first poop today since before he had surgery, which I was thankful for.

I was just laying with Pookie on the floor and to my suprise, he stood up and hopped over to the couch.  Next thing I know, he has his good foot propped up on it and he his jumping to try to get up.  I had to give him a boost, but he made it!

Progress!!
